StarFox Command: 2006 (DS)

Overall score: 9/10

It's not going to be a big review, but at least it's going to talk about everything from the game.

The game itself, the controls, are somewhat hard but when you get the trick, with some practice, it becomes pretty easy and enjoyable. But your hands hurt after a while so it's better playing on a table. The difficulty of the game is really not that easy. Indeed, you have to get quite of judgment, tactic and patience to play the game and finish it with all pilots and endings. (in the gallery section) I love the concept of having multiple chars playable with different vehicules for each of them. Really interesting. I, myself, quite adore Falco's ship along Slippy's. They're quite really strong! And Lucy Hare also is quite a wingmate.

The combat system is really nice too... But somehow, I hate doing the missiles. Perhaps because it's somewhat stressing if you miss a beacon, but other than that, it's really well done. It's smooth, step-by-step, and always tactic-needed. (when you have to destroy a squadron of 12 enemies, I just love sliding with the stylus a bomb and drop it to destroy them all in one shot!)

The tactic part is really nice yet new. You have to draw a path to each of your characters, within the turns allowed, and destroy the whole squadrons of enemies and collect their cores. (the star thingies) Really nice! The only thing, which make it harder though, is that kind of fog that appears in some levels. You can always erase a little part of it with the stylus, but on the next turn, it gets back.

The nine endings, in my opinion, just give to the game more replay value which is great. They're quite 'special' but it's giving some life to it. More personal problems, more feelings... Not just: we beated Andross, we get paid and we jet off. I liked it.

I'm still trying to get my hands on those nine endings, so far got five of them, and that's quite some hard work.

Multiplayers are really awesome. It makes me feel like I'm playing StarFox 64 vs. once again!

In overall, StarFox Command is a must get if you are a StarFox fan, and a must get also if you want a great game. StarFox Command delivers some old and good memories of past StarFox games, StarFox - StarFox2 and StarFox 64 elements, as well as plenty of actions. Humor is also a nice part ot the game itself... (example: when Falco is laughing because Slippy is getting married with Amanda.)

Score: A nice nine out of ten.
